I think this forum has the most bike critics around, and they'll probably come to trash this post soon. Nothing seems to be too satisfying to them. Maybe they only appeal to $3000 bikes; they can always find something to pick on and trash the bike, like oh yea the brake could've been better, etc. I'd recommend buyers to evaluate based on own use case & budget.

And oh, I'm pretty sure they're gonna thumbs down me.
I boguht the 24" version, it's nice quality for frame and components but build quality is not great. Brakes are not evenly installed, and sticks on one side when you brake, the gear slips all the time and makes it dangerous if you ride standing up, for example it will drop gear event though you don't touch the gear dial. The 24" model I got had thicker tires and it's heavy for 24". The wheels also don't feel perfectly balanced, when you pick up the bacl and pedal, the rear wobbles up and down, which means off center by fraction?
I pad $100 for 24", I guess that's about what it's worth but compared to target and WM bikes, it definitely looks and feels better.

It said tools come with the box, I had no tools in my box.
Instructions QR code also takes you to generic installation instructions that don't apply to the bike bought.

Stay away from 7 speed, just not enough.

Edit: I went and bought 2 more bikes. White version of this (unisex, stepthrough) and the one posted here. The 700cc ones are built differently than the 24" model. First of 24" had hydraulic fork in front, and brake pads, 700cc has disc brakes. Sadly the discs rub in both bikes, they need to be adjusted. I am editing my post because at $150 for these 700cc bikes, they are definitely worth $150. I removed the mud guard and rear basket holder from the white one, looks much better now.
One problem I have with the black one is that it won't go all the way down to 7th gear. It will require shifter adjustment I suppose.
The frame definitely feels short for anyone 6' or taller. Feels a bit cramped and I out my saddle up. Still at $150 (in store) , it's worth picking up. I would not suggest getting these for $250, though.
100%. Slickdeals always draws the bike snobs, the "build your own computer" snobs and the audiophile snobs. Yeah we get it, you can get something better for twice the money, or you saw some bike 6 months ago that was on clearance that is better. Cool...last I checked people dont WANT to spend twice as much and they dont own a time machine. This is a great bike for the money. If your a wanna be Lance Armstrong, look elsewhere.

Anyone know if this is a good bike? Or is it similar to any other big box store bike?

Suitable for flatter terrain commuting or recreation riding. Very limited gear range. Better than your typical Walmart bike, but very entry level. Comparable to a LBS entry level hybrid from something like Trek/Giant, but the difference will be assembly and service. If you buy it at Costco, it's probably not safe to ride until you have someone that knows what they're doing go through the entire bike to adjust everything, torque to spec, and lube. In a LBS, the bike will be ready to ride, and probably come with a free year of adjustments.

Thank you - this is basically for riding around the neighborhood with the kids. Won't be putting it in on major roads.

I've had a Trek and a Gary Fisher - loved them, until Sandy soaked them.

The in-store price seems decent if I can find it. lots of local CL prices are above average lately on the good named stuff.

But do agree with you on LBS vs. wal-mart stuff. My son has a huffy that we got him during the pandemic and the wheel isn't true. I need to adjust it to stop the wobble. hopefully costco is slightly better than that.

24" version ? There is an 18 inch frame version and it is the only one I have ever seen size wise, so not sure what bike you have.
Anyway, I have the bike listed here and its a great bike for the money. I have none of the issues you mentioned so not sure what bike you are referencing. Unless you are getting a higher priced bike on clearance or something (like the Axum), you would be hard pressed to find a better quality casual bike.

I bought 2 during last say but quality isn't good. Costoc customer service is great as usual, but ain't easy to return such big/heavy box item. I'd stay away.

I bought two of these Infinity bikes a few years back in store for $99.97 or so. They have been heavily used for the past several years by the family.

The brakes suck. I should probably replace them but haven't so far. The rest of the bike seems functional enough for a $100 bike.

I have this bike and it's good for this price. Build quality is alright but I had issues with both disc brakes rubbing, the only solution that worked was bending the rotors. Both wheels were out of true. The rear derailleur had to be adjusted out of the box.

At 5'10" I feel the handlebars are wide, and puts pressure on my shoulders and is not super comfortable, and I'd like to cut its size some day.

Tldr, its not perfect but decent enough and I'd happily buy again at this price
