I cannot initiate return from online orders page .
When our first unit died, I researched via Google and took it apart to see if I could find the problem. The various hoses had tons of accumulated soap. Made me think of what a cardiologist might find on a patient with clogged arteries. I cleaned the hoses but the damage was already done. I suspect by then the excess soap had affected drive components which I could not clean.
Since then, I've been on a crusade with my wife always reminding her to use little soap. We each do about half of our normal laundry so I always use less myself. The clothes always come out looking the exact same way as when we used more soap. Therefore the extra soap made no difference in cleanliness but instead proved to be costly lesson learned.
When our unit died, it actually became a double hit to our wallet. We have a stack arrangement. When the washer died, the dryer worked but didn't match the dimensions so we had to buy a completely new set of both. Worse yet, i had recently replaced the heating element (electric dryer) and it worked perfectly. Ended up selling the dryer for $100 on Craigslist to an extremely appreciative couple who were thrilled with their bargain. The new dryer was about $800 or so.
Finally, for some of you with a Samsung front load washer, ours is a fairly basic unit but comes with a clean cycle and a reminder to run it based on hours used. You do NOT use soap in that cycle. It uses hot water and operates for about four hours. I know that it is supposed to address the mold problem for users who don't leave the door open after use and/or simply wipe the residual water at the bottom of the front loader door well after each use. Seems to me that there is a side benefit to also help clean the hoses, etc. Since the cycle runs so long and on hot water, we run that cycle at times we know there won't be a demand for either hot water or the washer itself. Overnight would work for many.
I've owned three sets of stackables and never bought the outrageously priced pedestals. Each time we bought simple but still high priced (about fifty bucks) brackets which easily allow the dryer to sit on the washer. Our laundry space is limited so my wife wanted to go vertical. If you have more space and lots of money, the pedestals can help ergonomically. Removing clothes from each is easier (bend over at less of an angle). My daughter has pedestals and we help with laundry at her house when watching the grandkids so they have value. So we have some experience with pedestals but find them to not be worth the expense. You can also see the dryer controls better with a pedestal. Since ours are stacked, it is difficult to see the controls and we're both of normal to above normal height. I know my short daughter in law cannot see or reach our dryer controls without a step stool or ladder.
In retrospect, our next set will definitely be top loader Speed Queens. Excellent and time proven reliability and performance. No need to pay for pedestals and much easier to access the clothes. In our current arrangement, it's difficult and painful to get all the clothes out of the washer at our age. Additionally, with conventional top loaders, when one unit goes out we could simply replace the one unit and not be stuck replacing both. See my other post about that problem.
Speed Queens can be more expensive up front. I'd prefer that than buying cheaper units on Black Friday or other specials that have shorter obsolescence built in. I've taken apart our Samsung washer and dryer and examined the parts. Same with a GE top loader. Very limited durability. Compare the weight of these type to a Speed Queen and it's easy to see how the Speed Queen uses much beefier components.

I, like another poster here, had both the washer and electric dryer in my car about 8p last night. Went to checkout, measured and as I selected delivery date, the dryer went out of stock. I bought the washer.
I've been checking almost hourly since, with it not coming back in stock.
Samsung Shop app has a pair for 1k, but the opposite is true there for me, dryer in stock, washer not in my area. Would've cancelled this washer for that pair, but shrug. I'll keep the washer in my orders and keep checking.
There is a Kenmore dryer for same price on costco website, but doesn't float my fancy.
I have a 15 year old Kenmore (LG) that has been pretty trouble free. I did have to replace the drain pump a few years back ($25 part-amazon), but time for a better brand at a great price.
Thankfully, I got the 5year extended warranty. The repairman confirmed the lack of quality and told me his washer pair is 20 years old. No issues.
