I have had a front loader since 1999 and never had leaks. My first GE washer was working fine until 2015 and I sold it and bought a bigger GE one. I still have it and works great.

I have this exact same model…the door latch failed after a year (right after warranty expired) luckily the husband is pretty handy and ordered and replaced it saving us $300. If you buy it…I suggest getting the extended warranty (which I lagged on getting 😒)
With Costco and citi card it should be 2+2

We as well, purchased a 1st gen Maytag Neptune MAH3000AW back in May of 1999
Still using it as of now until this slick deal is delivered Tuesday next week.
I had to replace the drum bearing two times, cost of the parts $20 shipped.
Maytag sent out a full modification to reduce mold/mildew.
They also sent out a new main updated motor and control board.
Fact is, I spent $851 out the door for that maytag at sears in 1999 and it is still working.
I know it will be needing a new bearing kit sooner than later and I don't want to spent the time pounding out the old one again, That is about a two hour diy repair.

Never had a leak, we did have a couple door wax lock motors fail, very common and cheap & easy repair

Is the gas dryer good? Want the electric one but out of stock. I suppose Costco won't carry the units upstairs?
I'm currently looking for electric dryer and have been looking at the WED5620HW for $400. But even at this price with the terrible reviews I don't have the patience. I don't need fancy options just a dryer that's work and the motherboard doesn't go. Best Buy also has it on clearance makes me wonder if they are just trying to off load this sku because of dependability.

Good news! I just went back on the site and it looks like now they're selling the washer and electric dryer as a PAIR. $799.97. Just ordered.

PS Earlier when I was trying to buy these the washer was out of stock.

Just saw that Costco is now selling the washer and electric dryer as a set for $799.97. Hurry while it's still there.

I need a set that stacks. Would Costco install the gas drier since the electric drier is out of stock? My gas (propane) line is just next to the current washer but outside the wall to feed into the on demand heater.
Natural Gas and Propane appliances are different. This one is probably natural gas only.

You use a conversion kit. Our water heater is natural gas and same for our gas range. We used a converter

It seems to have very mixed reviews? Anyone else concerned about the machines needing service a few months in?

Also, my friends will probably want my old washer/dryer, think the 3rd party installer/movers would be willing to haul it down 2 floors but not get to take it?

Every appliance has mixed reviews these days. Nothing last, thats why you don't want to invest too much money in it.

I highly doubt that they will do that for you, they wanted to haul away so that they can get some money out of it, not doing that for free and get nothing out of it at the end.

Yeah, i expected as much, guess we'll just have to do it myself. My old machines just need some maintenance but honestly this costs just a little more than maintenance and I get a a warranty. $850 out the door but I get 4% back and another $40 from my electric provider. In 4 a set! (will need to buy a stacking kit though as it seems to not be included)

Any opinions on this verses this other deal at Costco?
