Yes, apply as a sole proprietor with your social security number instead of an EIN and your business name the exact same as your own legal name. Zero employees. Business income can be listed as little as $1,000 (resale, babysitting whatever it is you do)
Most Ink card require a recon call or get a pop-up saying you will hear about a decision later. About 90% of people get that. Also, most get a low limit ($3-4K)
Remember the $900 comes back as points, not cash (but can be converted to cash).
Got this card mid October for the regular $750/7500 promotion. Called in today to see if I could get the $900/6000 promotion and they did it no problem, just have to have reached the 6000 threshold when calling. In case anyone is in the same situation as I was 👍🏻
No, they most certainly don't, and no, it's not income
I've got 7 figures of Chase UR points and 0 1099s.
It's not income.
The IRS agrees it's not income.
If you have to spend anything to get it, it's a REBATE, not income. Not taxable, No 1099.
Here's a bunch of sources all telling you you're wrong
The only time you get a 1099 from Chase (or any bank) for CREDIT CARD BONUSES is if it's a non spending bonus
Like a referral.
And ONLY if those add up to more than $600 in a year.
NOT for signup bonuses which require spend. Which, again, are not taxable and no 1099 is issued
Also taxable would be things like offering you $ or points for opening a checking or savings account--- because you don't need to SPEND anything. So if that added up to more than $600 you'd get a 1099.
But credit card spend required signups? Not income. No 1099.

Needed a new card, so this one advertised on SD said why not. Little surprised it was approved instantly, still do not know for what amount. But guess it does help that I've had personal & business cards from Chase for almost 10 years now. I believe my last application was for the Southwest Biz Performance card back in 2019. However, the only Chase Biz card I have open now is an Ink Biz Plus that's been around ongoing for like 8 years now. So I'm guessing Chase was hungry for me to have another one.
Immediately called Chase to confirm approval + bonus. Also to ask them to overnight ship the card so I can use it immediately. They confirmed bonus and new card will arrive in 1-2 business days. Also told me the deadline by which I have to spend $6,000 minimum requirement.
Excellent service as always. Will try for the Biz Unlimited with the same 90,000-point bonus later this year.
I applied and got you will hear in 30 days email. After applying I got email only from Experian for credit pull but not from TransUnion and Equifax. Then I realized I have locked credit on both. I applied as sole proprietorship and sure it will come down to show proof once I call them.
What should I do? No idea how I received US Bank card approved 6 month back with no credit pull
I just got an email the other day that I am pre-aprooved for the Ink Business Unlimited.
But I think this is the card I might actually get more from.
In both cases the $900 cash back is the main reason to get either.
I usually stick with Discover 2% cash back on everything as my go to card.
I am assuming there is a difference in applying for this one vs one I am pre-aprooved for.
Perhaps different credit limit, or a soft pull vs hard pull on credit?
To go back to my own comment.
I applied for the Business Cash card, even though I was pre-aprooved for the Business Unlimited card this one did not get instantly approved.
They pulled my credit report and its under review.
So have to see what the outcome is.
As for individual vs business.
From my application process it looks very much like you need a business of some sort. Maybe not LLC level, but some kind of personal business, as there were many parts of the application in regards to my business.
What I assume will hurt me is my business is a side thing, I do not make a lot of money from it. My main income is my normal full time job. So I have no idea how much they will weight my credit score and income vs the "business side"

I think you are fine. Chase only pulled Experian for me.
you can apply as sole prop which works. qualifying for a business credit card is a very broad subject. selling a couple things on any of the marketplaces or ebay and that counts even
Was not instantly approved.
Got an email the next day to say I was and my welcome kit is on the way.
Still no application on file when i call the main number, nor do I see any new account when I log into chase, so I do not know what my limit will be yet.
I did already see a drop in my credit score from applying, but decided that was acceptable to have a new card with these benefits and the introductory offer.
Maybe I should have gone with the Business Unlimited as I was pre-aprooved for that one, and the $6000 I will spend would have applied to the 1.5% cash back in addition to the intro offer.
Does anyone have a list of what is under the "office products" category, it looks like its based on store, so a list of stores?
For me business expenses are things like cameras, electronics, computers stuff, etc. Hoping to find some way to get some of that to fall in the rewards.
I got mail saying they need to verify my TIN. I applied with my SSN as sole proprietorship. Will call them and hope it they consider my made up business legit. 🙂
