7700x = $400
32gb ram = free
cheapest AM5 mobo = $200
cpu/mobo combo discount -$50
new account signup discount -$25
build a pc discount -$25

total out the door = $500 + tax if you can combine all discounts.

This does help the deal a lot, but for some reason they still don't have a great variety of motherboards compared to Newegg and maybe other places. If you want to settle for one of the lower end boards or splurge the high end it's ok I guess. The Gigabyte Elite wouldn't be a bad deal...just depends what you need. I'm still on AM3+ lol so considering it.

Also the above post about a build a PC discount for $25 is actually a coupon you have to request by submitting your current build and wait a minute for them to approve it before you get sent the coupon, if anyone was wondering.

And yeah if this was good on the 7600x I would bite...the free memory makes it the deal since you have to buy that if you got the 7600 so it's kind of a wash.

Aye, Microcenter doesn't have a single B650 board with PCIe 5.0 for the GPU yet. Even Newegg only just stocked many of its listed B650 boards today.

It may be sold out at their locations now, but Microcenter started selling the ASUS B650E-E pretty early after release.

The only motherboard for $200 is garbage, anything worth buying is at least $300. The ram is free but it's crap ram, even the review mention DOA's. the only real discount here is $50 of the cpu/mobo combo... woooptie! At least the intel deal last time for 13600k was $300, beats the 7700x and can also have an amazing board for $200 and option for cheaper ddr4. AMD needs a lot more price reduction to make this amazing. The whole futureproof AM5 talk is nonsense, either build is good for next 3-5 years, i'll worry about that in 5 years and enjoy my savings instead.

FYI... Both the DDR5-5600 and DDR5-6000 kit product pages currently show: "Get this 32GB DDR5 RAM Kit FREE with select AMD Ryzen 7 or Ryzen 9 CPUs".

DDR5-5600 - Mfr Part #:5600J362X16FX5 / SKU:440818 - https://www.microcenter.com/produ...-fx5-black

DDR5-6000 - Mfr Part #:6000J362X16FX5 / SKU:440792 - https://www.microcenter.com/produ...-fx5-black

These are the entry level G.Skill kits w/ CL36 timing... but it's a free $149 / $189 32GB kit. If you are looking for an expensive high end kit with more overlocking potential (or higher capacity), you can resell or utilize these until higher speed / lower latency kits come out and (hopefully) DDR5 prices continue to fall.

I would certainly recommend confirming stock if you have much of a drive to your local Micro Center.

I picked up a 7950x + Aorus Master X670E combo Tuesday night. I used their online chat to have the local store call to confirm stock and got them to hold their last Master X670E and a 7950x before I made the ~30 mile (1+hr) trip.

The DDR5-5600 kits were out of stock at the Houston Micro Center on Tuesday as we talked about the past promo and how they had run out. The free DRAM promo showed back up for the 7950x/7900x/7700x on Wedneday. The online inventory also updated to show ~14 DDR5-5600 kits in stock, so I made another trip to the store to get an adjustment. (Free DRAM kit)

I believe the DDR5-6000 kit may have been added to the promo Thursday (yesterday), but the verbiage on the combo details from the CPU product pages still say DDR5-5600 kits. It's possible they plan to substitute only if/when the 5600 kits run out. If you plan to take advantage of this promo, it would be worth asking about the DDR5-6000 kit.

My build is for a virtualization host replacement in my home lab and calls for all 4 dimms to be populated... so 5000+ mhz overlocking will probably never be an option for this build due to Ryzen 7000 memory bus limitations.

Notes - Some of the Microcenters have been running low / out of stock for the 5600 kits as the free DRAM promo has offered on multiple occasions since early October.

The rumor is that AMD is trying to kick start sales given the recent Intel 13th gen release and both AMD and Intel's high end parts have very similar performance... But there is a lower minimum cost of entry for Intel 13th gen as they can leverage existing 12th gen motherboards and less expensive DDR4.

Supposedly (via Moore's Law is Dead) - AMD worked out the deal with G.Skill and Microcenter for the free DDR5 kits to get Ryzen 7000 series sales moving.

Have to see what Dallas has in stock for the 2 hour drive, not sure it's worth it more so if a problem occurs, I wish the had a Austin location, kinda stupid being most the tech companies are in Austin now.. I can get a tesla fresh off the floor, but not a CPU ...
