these electric kettle just boil water faster than using gas and it auto off.
I usually turn mine on and brush my teeth. by time I am finish its boiled already in a few minutes. also if I got to drop the poop and an extra 15 minutes goes buy I can squeeze assure that when I come out the water is not all evaporated with the stove boiling it for the past 15 minutes on high.

Lots of videos showing electrical kettles are more efficient (also faster) than any stove except iirc induction. They are very convenient and honestly are one of those appliances that have improved the quality of my life in a tiny way. I can just hit a button and it will stop heating when it hits a boil, inherently much safer and easier than babysitting something on a stove. I do yield that a stainless steel pot on a stove is inherently cleaner and purer and all that jazz as your liquid is exposed to nothing but. If you live in a 240v country then they're even more fast and efficient and a complete slam dunk.

I've had the same electric kettle for about 4 years with no failures at all.
