Save $20 and get this if TV can't do 4K? Seems like a no brainer but wanted to double check if there are other differences between the 2 versions...
Well the 4K is a tad faster. Not a lot. But it has a little more juice. It's also twice the price. So if you don't even use it on a 4K display or TV then I'd stick with this for the $20 and call it a day.

I have both versions of the Chromecast, one for my UHD TV and the other for my HD TV.
It's slightly faster, but I noticed that the 4K tends to have slightly better memory, so it's better at keeping a second app running in the background. So when I'm toggling between Hulu and YouTube in the 4k Chromecast, I can start where I left off. Whereas in the HD version, it'll kill the app if I toggle to another steaming app and play a video. It's not 100% of the time, but it's a pattern.
Still, if you're not the type of person that cares about having to relaunch an app each time you use it, and you don't care about it being 200ms - 2s slower, then the HD is for you.
Also, just note, on both of them, the USB on my TV wasn't enough to power either Chromecast, so bear in mind that you might have to plug it into an outlet.
