Wish it was available in my zip as well.
I have been seeking for a washer/dryer combo deal.
Last one with this price range was from Whirlpool, which was not available in my zip back then.... bummer
so tempted but my 40 year old maytag set is still rocking
The efficiency alone would save you more money. many of the newer machines will reduce your electricity and water consumption by at least half. Water for sure with the HE models.

no doubt, but water is really cheap here and I don't think electrical use is much different.
Have a 12 year old Samsung washer dryer. Washer seemingly still is fine but dryer started making clanking noises but dries well, should I pre emptively replace them?

Samsung makes bad appliances. Typically for washers and dryers, less is more. Basic features are easier to repair and last the longest. No touchscreen that can poop out, no fancy sensors. This is cheap but probably won't last for ever.

Yeah the Samsung set came with the house and they have the receipts, and honestly surprised how old it was since I hear horror stories about Samsung appliances failing under 5 years often

I personally have a Samsung washer. We luckily got the extended warranty from Best Buy. 1 drain pump, 1 motor that spins the drum and 2 door seals. And one time the repair guy broke our soap dispenser dropping it while taking it apart

Keep it until it dies and even then try to get it fixed.

Keep it running. The life of new washers is like 7 years now. The quality is crap. I would love a 40 year old washer.
