This is a really dumb take. If someone cares about battery life and telling time these are vastly superior to Apple's watches. These are totally different products.

I recently got a gts 4 mini for about 2x the price. It's been at least a little bit helpful with working out and sleeping. I could easily end up with too many of these with the cheap prices and frequent sales. The screen and battery specs look good enough on the gts that you can't go too far wrong for $50. The Zepp app is a bit of a mess but I've seen much worse and it generally seems work.

Mine doesn't work with gmail and it won't notify me when I have an email. Does yours have this problem?

Haven't tried it, I don't alert for gmail. SMS and calls have been flawless so far.

Apple doesn't work with Android and doesn't track rowing workouts, 2 things Amazfit does.

I was planning to buy one of these, but when I started reading about privacy concerns, I ended up going with a FitBit.

Good looking out on the privacy front, that's definitely an important purchasing factor. For what it's worth, this'll work with a third-party app that doesn't collect and sell your data. I've used the one linked below for an earlier model Amazfit watch. The developer also makes this app for the Miband series of devices.
