FYI. The only difference between this 2022 and 2020 version is that the remote now has a built-in battery you can recharge.
Won't u get 4k content just fine without it? I have 800mbps and 4k vid is more than fine...
I was about to ask if anyone knew the differences. Thank you very much.

I'm surprised there isn't even a small hardware upgrade. Basically not worth upgrading if you've already got the 2020 IMO.

I wish the Ethernet had gigabit speeds.

10/100 is capped at 100 mbps so not quite a good comparison. However there's a lot of compression with most online streaming services even at 4K so it might be ok for the most part. I sometimes get buffering with Plex and semi-compressed 4K videos using ethernet on an older Roku Ultra however.

For certain? The 2020 is model 4800R and I've dealt with a red saturation on x265 HEVC content that's driving me nuts. I was thinking about trying the 2022. Rumor was the 2020 had an impassable hardware issue with playing the encoding and I was hoping the 2022 would fix it. Right now the only solution is to disable HDR on the Roku.

Anyone know what this gives over a stick?
I have both. The Ultra has bluetooth and it loads apps faster. Plus the lost remote finder built into the Ultra. But the stick isn't slow. You'll only notice the difference if you do a speed test. The Ultra probably loads apps a second faster. And I have a Samsung QN85DA and the Samsung remote only controls the ultra.

Are these the same prices in store? Found the answer to my own question. Nope. At least not at Walmart or Target. Walmart doesn't price match the website either so you would have to pay and pick it up later if you're already in the store.

More memory, rechargeable battery in the remote, faster cpu I believe, and usb port are the major ones.
