You could get just the blower still.
1. Buy this kit and choose the blower as your free tool.
https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWAL.../313759426
2. Return the battery kit and keep the blower for $99 cost.

This blower didn't do very well stacked up against the competition according to Project Farm:

I already have a blower, just need longer lasting batteries.
Is the thing strong enough to blow leaves on grass? Smaller yard but I don't want to waste money on something that does not work when there are 40v, 60v or 80v options out there.

It does an ok job on grass but needs more power (turbo) so the 1.3ah battery barely lasted 5 mins. Tried again on driveway with low throttle and it worked for more than 10 mins.

Thanks, it's good to know. So with the two batteries (6+4ah) and turbo there should be enough run time and power for leaves in grass / flower beds / etc.

All these battery powered blowers are too weak, might as well rake it with hand
What specifications would be strong enough for you?

This is
125 MPH
450 CFM

This is not a weak blower like the low end Ryobi
90 MPH
200 CFM
https://www.homedepot.com/p/RYOBI.../303365519

Here is a Makita Gas example for $245
145 MPH
356 CFM

For $99, would the blower be a good deal?
Yes it would. I've been looking for a deal on the blower and got the deal in the comment. Blower came out to $95 as a free tool. Should be easy to return the kit.

I've had this blower since spring and use it constantly. Very happy with it; one of my most-used Dewalt tools

It's quite loud with high frequencies, so earplugs are a must, and it does eat batteries so the 4AH is just enough for like one job, about 30 mins so like blowing off a medium sized roof. It was strong enough last weekend to move to pick up the thick layers of old wet leaves that didn't get done last year, though it had to work at those a bit.

Does anyone know if this will work with the free battery promo https://www.dewalt.com/offers? They state, "Offer applies to purchases of DEWALT® 20V MAX* cordless products, excluding outdoor products", but I'm not sure which products are "outdoor products"; I would assume this is, but not sure.

I have had this 20v for years and it's a fine blower. I now have acres of mature trees and finally got the 60v flex DCBL772X1 blower which is wild. You basically have to use 2 hands and keep the back away from your clothes. I would skip right to the 60v if you have several trees that drop leaves.. but a backpack might be safer.

I have this blower. It's a very good blower. Stuff on grass? I think it depends on what's on the grass and how how the grass is. I can't say it's the best for blowing stuff on grass. The batteries last fine. I don't know how long it takes you to blow out your patio, but 30 minutes is a very long time. I have NEVER ran out of juice from a "full" 3ah battery from blowing the front and back of my house. Probably took all of 20-30 minutes. Biggest hassle with all these, is all the air they suck in from behind. Keep an eye on your shorts being sucked up and blocking the fan. I've had mine for years and totally happy with it.

Yes you can. Just ship both to your house and return the blower in store (or do return shipping label)

It might but you need to spend $300 to get the free 4ah battery.

For context, this Greenworks Pro 80V (170 MPH / 730 CFM) Brushless Cordless Axial Blower, Tool Only BL80L02 blower was very recently $115. Many people have the Greenworks 80V batteries from packages from earlier costco deals. It may be worth hanging on a bit (a few weeks to BF, the leaves will still be there, and Greenworks has been pretty aggressive with promos) if you're worried more about horsepower and less about matching existing batteries.

I often find myself stuck in that quandary, and learned not to match all the batteries, but get the best tool for the job and the batteries will follow. Hence I have 18V 20v 56v and 80v across major brands, and don't sweat being too matchy matchy:

I just got one of these a month ago. It is pretty powerful in my opinion. I live in the northeast and I was able to do my back yard with it yesterday with some pretty heavy leaf cover.

Also, I paid $135 for just the tool when I got it.
