I'm not a home theater expert by any means, but Atmos here just refers to the fact that it can take in Atmos content, downmix it to 5.0 using height virtualization to give some height effect. It won't probably be anywhere near as good as having discrete speakers or actual upfiring speakers. At least, this is the case with my Q67CB which is a 5.1 setup.

I picked this up yesterday. I was underwhelmed especially since the one I have now is nothing special (Vizio M21-H8). But my Vizio honestly sounded SO MUCH better. Much more bass and clearer voices. I don't use it for music usually, but even the music sounded much, much better.

YMMV, but for me, its going back.

The easiest way is to create a samsung account with an .edu email. You can also get the discount through the myunidays portal, but you would need an .edu email for that too.

Just picked this up. Phenomenal sound for its size. Soundstage is really impressive. I own a z9f and a full 5.1.2 discrete Sony system, and owned several cheaper soundbars in the past. Quite impressed with this little soundbar. It's very good. At this price it's an insanely good deal.

I'm getting $199 instead of $139, not sure if I'm missing a step. I've been able to buy items before using EPP before but even with following the steps I'm getting 199.

I grabbed one of these last time around and it's garbage. The remote stopped turning it on like the second week. My LG OLED it's paired with can't turn it on but is able to turn it off with CEC. My LG remote/TV is able to control the volume and everything else but the power on state, this means I have to get up and turn it on every time. I've contemplated just using the built in speakers in the TV.

For full disclosure I've yet to listen to a sound bar that I've felt is worth any amount of money compared to buying some reasonably priced speakers with a receiver, but this was for my living room with no real space for speakers.

I detest in threads like this when people nonchalantly or even condescendingly say something like "Just sign up with an edu account."

As if we all have an edu email laying around. Multiple people have asked for ways to obtain an email address to get this deal and have been ignored but that doesn't stop people from saying "sign up with an edu account".

My school nor my brothers ever gave out email addresses, just like my mom's job doesn't have official email addresses which made getting our old cell plan discount a 2 week ordeal every 2 years.

I'd love to jump on this deal but it's $199.99...I guess I should enroll at a different University to save that sweet $50.

This site/app needs to add a "tab" for EPP style deals in addition to "For You" & "Popular" which are the same as front page deals with some worse deals. That way most of us don't get our hopes up seeing a quality sale we can't obtain access to.

Samsung does accept Paypal, it also accepts AmazonPay, Google Pay.
Chase Freedom Flex cashback depends on the account I think.
