Edit: Pulled the trigger since it checks off the boxes I wanted, namely that it has a built in KVM and USB-C power delivery. Been wanting to reduce cord clutter and replace my dual monitor setup.
Short answer is the Alienware is more geared toward gaming while this LG is primarily an office monitor with some nice gaming features (like 144hz and FreeSync/G-Sync). For me, even if the price were the same, I'd pick this monitor for the slightly wider aspect ratio (replaces two actual 27inch QHD), USB-C w/ Power Delivery, and KVM features. I plan to do mostly work on it, with maybe a few minutes of Rocket league if the 4 kids ever leave me the hell alone.

Quick question, did your monitor come with a rear cable manager cover from previous generation of this monitor (LG49WL95C-W).
I bought one from Amazon (seller: Beach Camera) which came with a rear cable Manger cover from the previous gen. The instructions manual seems to be from previous generation as well. Was wondering if it's a LG thing or Beach camera sent me an open box 😥.

I got the LG49WQ95C. The monitor is LG49WQ95C but the back cover is WL900, hence my confusion 😥.
