Please note that you'll need a 5V/1A power supply for this (not included). Probably most generic phone charger from the last few years with a USB-A style connector would work.

Now, for most people, they are better served, (those that have receivers made in the last decade, and especially those that need better than basic 5.1), by a powered hdmi splitter for hdmi 2.1 bandwidths (and hdcp of course).
However, when I last looked for a quality splitter, I couldn't find any that truly supported hdmi 2.1, that was a year ago.

curious, what do you mean as I never had a chromecast before? This allows you to listen to audio from your chromecast to your external speakers and video to TV is what I assume?
