DON'T buy from mint - best buy has the same deal and you can activate past 45 days but mint is really strict about the activation expiring after 45. You've been warned.

Can I use a locked T-mobile iPhone on Mint Mobile? It uses the same network.
Maybe. But I'm willing to bet forum rules disallow the insertable device that could make this possible for a phone you own outright.

It shouldn't matter. You choose esim when you activate. Best Buy and Target have no add'l fees (except e911?) so it's cheaper through them. I think Mint adds the recovery fee.

Check and double check and truly heed the coverage map. My area has full bars outside and absolutely no coverage inside any buildings or off my main street in my town. I can't fathom how rough the coverage is. I switched over thinking I could live with it becuase I work from home but it was driving me nuts. Went back to Straight Talk and lost my number of 15 years in the process. If you go with mint I highly suggesting doing a trial for a few months with a new number from them. If switching then let it expire and start a new acct and then transfer your number once you're sure you're gonna stay. Can't beat the price and I know we're all frugal here but think twice before the leap. I regret messing with it.

That said, my son has a line for them and he's 13. No issues but once he's on his own more we'll get off Mint

No, for sure. I'm not bad mouthing Mint. Just saying to be very mindful of map and needs before switching.
