DON'T buy from mint - best buy has the same deal and you can activate past 45 days but mint is really strict about the activation expiring after 45. You've been warned.

That assume that Mint will give you the credit - I'm in this situation and haven't received anything so far despite being positive the link was used (it showed up in the card "referral used") - should have taken the screenshot - foolish me for not being paranoid.

I didn't receive any email, notification or anything otherwise - support keeps telling me to wait.
Same here - nothing in the pending referrals section. Contacted the CSR and was told to wait 15 days.

Make sure to do a trial first before you buy, in my area Mint service sucks, barely gets 1mbps download. Ymmv
Mint is Tmobile, right? So you'd have gotten an equally poor experience if you'd have directly used Tmobile I am assuming.

Does anyone know if you used up 4GB of data of their $15 plan ,will data still works but just slower or don't work until it resets?
I looked into this last month and apparently they just throttle you after you hit your limit. I have US Mobile right now and they completely cut your data off after you hit your monthly limit, which I've found also prevents me from sending or receiving picture attachments in texts and group texts (MMS). I find that policy unacceptable in today's day and age.

For that reason alone I've been considering porting out of US Mobile. You can really be left out to dry if this happens while on a road trip and using your GPS for navigation when the data runs out. Had it happen to me the first time I ever hit my monthly limit with them.

Yes, Mint is T-Mobile but deprioritization is the key here. T-Mobile will always prioritize its own customer's data speeds primarily over those of sub-carriers running on its network.

Check and double check and truly heed the coverage map. My area has full bars outside and absolutely no coverage inside any buildings or off my main street in my town. I can't fathom how rough the coverage is. I switched over thinking I could live with it becuase I work from home but it was driving me nuts. Went back to Straight Talk and lost my number of 15 years in the process. If you go with mint I highly suggesting doing a trial for a few months with a new number from them. If switching then let it expire and start a new acct and then transfer your number once you're sure you're gonna stay. Can't beat the price and I know we're all frugal here but think twice before the leap. I regret messing with it.

That said, my son has a line for them and he's 13. No issues but once he's on his own more we'll get off Mint
Does your phone have all the T-Mobile bands?

I recently spent $20 for 3G of extra data from mint. terrible. I have $4.69 in my mint account and it's useless sitting there since the lowest amount that can be used is $5 and I have to charge $5 increments in order to "use it"

I made the jump from Red Pocket since they decided to not offer any annual plan eBay deals this year. I went with the unlimited plan on Mint, purchased through Best Buy using Discover Card rewards cash. Happy so far, but that's to be expected since I live in T-Mobile's back yard. Time will tell once we start traveling.

its for new customers and mint tracks your CC. port your number to google voice and grab cards from best buy... youll forever be a new customer and will save tons of money. check other mint deals on slickdeals, plenty of talk about how to do it.

Mint deals cannot be added to pre-existing plans - they give you a new sim and they'll give you a new number or you can port in your NON mint number. To get around this you port your actual number you plan to keep out to google voice, then each time you get a new mint number you setup conditional forwarding to the google voice number. You have to set up conditional forwarding each time you get a new mint number, but now you can get the new customer deals without changing your number. Also you DON't have to setup conditional forwarding, google voice allows you to place calls/texts over any data connection, its just nice having your phone calls actually go thru the carriers voice network when you maybe don't have fast data speeds.
I've been following exactly this process for over 4 years. Learned BestBuy non-expiring activation bit later but for good. Thanks for putting together the right way in writing.

After the time is up then you can go to their 10g plan. You can add money to your account so when you upgrade the money will be there. Including your 4.69.

I just paid for my yearly plan so I'm good for another year.

What happens after 6 months? Their monthly normal price renewal seems to be crazy. 75$ it is showing me.
