DON'T buy from mint - best buy has the same deal and you can activate past 45 days but mint is really strict about the activation expiring after 45. You've been warned.

Too much of a hassle. I had looked at doing that before but at least at the time it was too much of a hassle and some things just wouldn't work they way I wanted them too. I already have a GV account that I use, so would have to get a second one and port the cell number I have had for 20+ years to it. Then at least at the time it appears that I couldn't use iMessage with that number after I ported it. I would have to keep switching numbers all the time and also take the risk of a new number getting tons of spam etc.

Anyway, I'll have to decide by the end of March or so if I want to stay. Would be nice to refer someone to get a discount again (hint hint). Smilie

Signed up & ported out of Red Pocket today. Had to contact Red Pocket twice since they seemed hesitant to release number. Now fighting to get 3 months free since it did not give me that initially.

Pretty much all of my banks and Paypal support Google Voice for their text validations, and they are all reputed banks in the US.

The only thing I have not been able get done with GV is Zelle transfer.

Really? I tried PayPal with Google Voice and it didn't recognize it as a valid number. Also tried with Chase, that didn't work as well.

Not sure if that was asked before but current mint service ends in 7 days. I know about the GV port over and forwarding GV calls to device to keep the same number. Could I port to Fi to avoid the fee during trial period then port back to Mint when I activate the new 3+3 month sim (from bb) by the 15th cut off?

Refer your friend who is on ATT or Verizon (I believe MVNO are also fine example US Mobile is Verizon MVNO). If they port in their number before January 16, they will get B3G3 months and you will get $100. If you miss it or your friend is not on these carriers, if they Buy 3 months Get 3 months 4GB plan, you will get $45 etc. Google "mint mobile $100 referral".

Yes, they confirmed me on chat and phone. The best would be if you could activate by January 15 the lastest to score $100 as a referral bonus instead of $45 (4gb plan) or $60 (10gb plan) I think.
