If you're getting your hopes up about this, and thinking you'll be "the exception" to all the negative experiences...prepare to be disappointed. Read the previous thread about last week's Walmart + promo. There are 10+ pages of complaints. Walmart didn't even have the "Buy" button at noon, it was immediately replaced with OOS. I repeatedly refreshed the page from 11:40 - 12:30 and it was constantly OOS.

Walmart isn't trying to sell TV's, they're selling W+ memberships. I was gullible too, and paid for the membership, and thought I'd get a TV...at 12 noon, in the middle of the day, when MILLIONS of people were watching this highly promoted sale. Nope. Instead, I got the 55" from another SD post for Target for $199 on Sat night at 2am. Already have the TV in hand. That thread is full of positive experiences.

Granted, one guy said he went into the physical Walmart, and at noon they price matched the TV with the online price, and he walked out with it. Might be the way to go. Otherwise, don't get your hopes up. Another "deal" at noon that sounds "too good to be true".... Fool me once... Just my 2 cents. Good luck!

I bought one of these 3 years ago when it sold for $300. Still going strong.

If they keep it OOS, like it currently is, until noon on the 7th, there's a better chance of getting one. The Hisense deal last month didn't start until 12 noon, but Walmart let those that bought earlier at a higher price get adjustments.

I remember earlier when people thought this was going to be hard to get. I laughed. Are people really this clueless? We are on the brink of a disastrous recession, I just read a report today that 63% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. Spending is down. Companies are just dying to get rid of inventory. Amazon reported a couple weeks ago saying that Christmas spending is projected to be way down. TCL/Walmart are just hoping they can sell out of these units before the tough times arrive and people aren't buying TVs.

Ordered for pickup in about 5 minutes. No issues. I will hold on to it to see if anything better comes before the return period is over. I am feeling better about this TV vs the 58" at Target.

Like many others I kept getting error messages until about 12:15est. Then was able to get one. Made the 49$ Walmart plus worthwhile for me.

All I am going to say is I bought one of these 3 years ago as well it lasted just over 2 years when it broke and when that happens do not expect anything from their "customer service". When I complained they effectively told me "Stuff wears out you can't expect it to last forever" which I found to be a pretty lame response.

I know these things are cheap but I have Vizo tv that is almost 10 years old and still works fine, and a Samsung TV that is 8 years old and still works fine.
And to your antidotal story I will add that I bought a Visio for my first HDTV and it lasted 2 years, while I have a TCL I got 7 years ago and it still works great.

Pretty sure that's why people want to pay $188 for a TV instead of $1800

FWIW, I got two for pickup. Was OOS at open but was available a few minutes later.

If interested in the deal, probably worth checking back now and then.

Can someone tell me if I have this Roku tv AND cable, do I have to use separate remotes? Or can I just use my cable remote. (not ready to cut the cord yet) Not sure how this works with cable.
You'll need to use the TV remote if you want to use the smart tv functions, like getting to the various apps. But if you are mainly using it for cable, you can just go to the settings and set the TV to always go straight to the hdmi input that your cable box is connected to, rather than the home (smart) screen. This way you can just use your cable remote, and will only have to switch to the tv remote if you want to go to the home screen where the apps are.

Of course you will have to do the initial step of connecting the tv to your cable remote so you can use it to turn on the tv and adjust the volume.

Good TV. Terrible viewing angle. Processor snappy enough to run Roku well. Looks good straight on. As with all cheap TVs, you need at least a sound bar because the audio quality is poor.

Get the extended warranty. These sets mysteriously die in year 2 or 3. My first TCL from 2012 is still going. My 4 and 6 series that are less than 5 years old both died. I had a warranty on one. Fixed the other myself. Both were T-Con boards. More recently, the led strips are going out which is a much harder repair. Both have very nice pictures. Both require the built in apps to be updated manually to avoid. crashes. Hard resets do not fix crashes.

I got a >$5 GE universal remote (Walmart clearance) to work with it. No way you could get a cable box to work with that remote though. My Logitech remote works with everything, but you can't get those anymore. A Sofabaton should do it all just fine.
