This price at 550 for the M32U seems to be the lowest. Last price I see was 599.99 back in April. (per camelcamelcamel dot com)
Does anyone else have better price history checking sources?

I'm currently using a 27" 1440p monitor for macOS and its not great for macOS (but great for gaming), and I want to get back to 4K or higher at some point. I also have a 5K iMac, but that is my personal machine and I don't use it for my job.
32" was a good size for me for work. I kept it at the same distance as a 27'/28" monitor (about arms length) and it gives me more area, almost like dual monitors with the amount of space. Great for coding which is what I do most of the time. However, at that distance its too large for gaming as I'd have to move my head around to see parts of the screen, and I could move it back with my mounting arm but its a pain to do that all the time. 27" is perfect size for gaming.
Kinda depends on what you're doing with the monitor and how you would position it. I imagine you're going to do some gaming if you're looking at a high refresh rate monitor. If you're not going to use it for gaming, I would just get a 4K@60Hz monitor. I don't notice the difference with higher refresh rates in non-gaming tasks. My current monitor can do 165Hz, and I still just use 60Hz on my MacBook Pro I use for work. I only use the higher refresh rate when I switch over to my PC for gaming.
For me, M28U would be my pick between the two, mainly because it has a lower minimum brightness. I've used monitors that don't go low enough, and it can be a problem. Size considerations I discussed above also factor in, though that is a tough call for me still.
Personally I am waiting to see what happens with Mini LED monitors. If M28U goes below $400 it'll be very tempting, but that probably won't happen this year.
