I just ordered these for my living room thinking they were the theater speakers with the added up firing Atmos speakers. After watching a video review, I know realize the cinema series are twice the size as the theater speaker setup. Not sure how my wife is going to feel about this. At least they're loud enough for me to hear them from the dog house I'll be in when they arrive on Thursday and she sees just how big they are.
Question for the experts. I am finishing my basement and its a pretty open space. Would this work well for an open, fairly large rectangular home theater area? Its such a rabbit hole to go down with A/V. Price seems great, but i also dont want a HTIB kinda deal.

I would suggest skipping on these.
These are more for a small environment and TBH you're probably not gonna get any true Atmos immersion from these.
To use these properly the receiver is going to cost much more. You should spend most of your budget on the speakers.

I got these of SD for $249 last year. They are ok but you are right about spending more on speakers. I eventually upgraded everything and the only piece left is the wireless sub that I keep behind the couch. (Got two of wireless 12 inch klipsch subs upfront from Sd deal at costco recently) these speakers now sit in the closet.

Advice is take your time and peice it together
Thanks everyone. Yeah i read a few reviews online and one particular one on reddit that said to avoid the reference line of klipsch.

Yes. They aren't bad (and for this price are quite acceptable) but Klipsch's Reference Premier is what people really should get (or something else). Cost, however is a factor with the Reference Premier line.
Also, Atmos can be great but if you have high or sloped ceilings, it doesn't work as well as with standard height flat ceilings.
dang this is a very good deal at $400. Price is over $1k on their own website. This is also a 5.1.4, not 5.1.2 like most Dolby Atmos Soundbars. With 5.1.4 you get Dolby Atmos even from rear speakers.

These are actually designed to bounce sound off the ceiling. They work best with standard 6-8ft flat ceilings. Up firing atmos speakers will add some volume/height with vaulted ceilings, but you will not get that positional bounce.
