Nice, thanks for the reply! How about clearance on the vrm heatsink? I have some gskill rip jaws and I may exchange for the Corsair vengeance lpx.

The ak620 fit on an atx asrock z690 extreme with corsair vengeance for me. I was a bit worried with the weird housing that's common around the io panel these days. I'd probably have to take it out to get at the cpu atx 12v or the first m2 slot. The cpu cables were easier to plug in to the board with the fans removed but they clip in and out easily. Also, remember to take the plastic off the cold plate. Yea I uh forgot to do that on the first run. Cools much better without the plastic!

Sorry, but that doesn't sound like good advice for anyone. Why would I drop a $400 processor (at MC, but I did see it is $329 at a few places) into a motherboard that dates back to 2018 (X470) when I can get a spiffy new 2021 board and CPU for $350 and then sell my 3700X/X470 for ~$200? Also, according to my trusted source, the 12700K is significantly (~20%) faster across the board in real world apps. I don't go by just games.
