Closest Microcenter to me is about 4 hours away. I cry myself to sleep every time I see awesome deals at their store. I plan to make a field trip there some day.

This board is limited to DDR4 RAM. I'd get a better one that takes DDR5 if I'm going to get it to pair with a 13600K.
DDR4 vs DDR5 performance benchmarks are basically the same for basically anything.

Just got this and it is incredibly fast. I'm a developer and I'm not sure what you could be doing that ddr4 vs 5 would make a difference. This will work for every project I'll try for several years. Almost no one will ever use the DDR5 performance bump. At least not $400 worth of performance to go to DDR5 over this deal. Was able to put together a full, decently high end system for about $625 at microcenter with this deal. Unbeatable value.

CPU/mobo combo - 350
980 EVO plus 1Tb - 109
Memory 32 Gb (ripjaws) - 90
Cooler - 55

I was able to reserve a combo this morning (11/8) at around 5:30am at the Tustin, CA location. It said 25+ were available at the time, but by the time it hit 7:30am they were all gone. Just giving some hope for those looking at this deal. Keep an eye for those restocks!

I got a couple days worth of free Hotel stays that are expiring end of this month that i need to use up anyways.

Only a 3 hour trip one way.

Maybe there'll be some good sight seeing to do and food to be eaten once I'm there nod

Reserved 1 at Cambridge MA for $337 (after tax + $25 1st order coupon + $10 Discover statement credit). Thanks OP! My first rig in 15 years, so I'm quite rusty. I assume the back panel USB ports are backward compatible since I have several USB 2.0 external drives laying around. Any good deals on DDR4's - 4x16gb or 2x32gb sticks? TIA!

My quotes keep getting taken out of context. I was responding to an individual who said he would buy the combo, sell the cpu then get a newer 13th gen intel CPU and pair it with this board. I am a pc gamer and that's what my focus is. There are plenty of newer benchmarks that show 13th gen intel cpus perform better with ddr5 than ddr4. My comment was in the context of if I am going to get the latest CPU (13th gen). I would not pair it with the motherboard in this combo as it is limited to DDR4 (no upgrade path). The newer intel boards support faster lower latency DDR5 RAM than those from the 12th gen.

I actually agree with you, DDR4 ram is perfectly fine for 12th gen and even 13th gen intel cpus. Personally, I like upgrade paths for my hardware, and if i'm going to start with cheaper DDR4 RAM, I'm going to want to be able to upgrade the DDR5 down the line (easier to drop in a couple of new RAM modules than replace entire Mobo) All this depends on your use case.

Just keep checking the website. I don't know when this store will restock, but it looks different stores are getting stock from time to time. Hopefully you can score one!
