An optional trim kit to fit a 36" opening is available from the manufacturer. It may be available other places as well.

A bit down the page for this model on the manufacturer's site is the link to the optional trim kit. The second link is the kit itself.

I have this oven. After having LG and Samsung models that crapped out, this one has been going strong. Whirlpool make reliable if not exciting appliances.

The sensor cooking and any of the other auto settings just don't work very well... same as most brands. Best to just set the time and power yourself.

Have an LG with sensor cook. Absolutely love the feature. It stopped working (only the sensor cook) after 3 years. When we buy a replacement will get one with sensor cook
Sensor cooking failed on my LG also, it's a common problem. You can try replacing the sensor and see if that works, but it didn't for me. The sensor is cheap and you have to take down the oven and open the casing.

Press sensor cook and than start. It keep cooking until there is a feedback from 'the sensor' and it stop. Well for mine it add an 8 second count down and than stop. The food come out almost boiling hot, I have not test if it reach boiling YET.

I think how it work is it keep on cooking until it sense there is resistance. Similar to how your automatic window in your car work, it keep going up or down until there is resistance. That resistance is how it knows to cut the power. Pretty smart. It doesn't need to know how far it have gone or if it actually reach the end, it just know there is resistance and to stop.
It works by sensing the humidity inside the oven. I don't see how it could work well if you are heating something in a bag or container.

People are talking about sensor cooking like it's a new technology. Afaik this is the same "sensor cooking" we've had for the last 30 years. Almost every microwave I look at above $100 has it.

The last microwave I got works as a convection oven too, but now they have these "air fryer" combo microwaves, and I would definitely go that route.

Good timing. My 10 year old Whirlpool randomly started blowing fuses. Replaced the door switches and still happens. Might just get a new one and avoid wasting time diagnosing the issue or paying for a repair tech visit.
paying for repair tech to visit may already cost as much, if not more, than buying new.

i don't know anyone repair anything that is out of warranty, maybe for item over 5k.

Only word of advise on a lot of these whirlpool over the range microwaves. The door handles are not solid metal but plastic with a chrome/stainless "sticker" covering it. With heat and moisture from the range below these handles start peeling.

Thanks for the heads up. I would have never imagined that it would just be a sticker.

What's "sensor cooking"? I've never heard that term before..
Basically it prevents your food from turning to rubber or rock if you use it properly.

Is it possible to confirm the dimensions of the unit? I'm in need of one but need to make sure it fits where my existing one was due to existing backsplash. Online it says:

Product Depth (in.): 15.56 in
Product Height (in.): 17.13 in
Product Width (in.): 29.94 in

We have this. It works just fine. However- can't wait for it to crap out so I can justify replacing it. The "done" signal is absolutely horrible. And it repeats itself in the most super annoying way every 15-20 seconds if you don't open the door. If anyone knows a hack to disable the signal, please, please, please- do tell!!

Just got this delivered from Costco on Friday, I paid 339.99. Installed and it works just great. Seems like the door is built more solidly than my last Whirlpool which which gave me 7 years. The door developed a problem on the old one and worked just fine other than that.
How was your installation guys, did it take them long, any issues. They haul away the old one too right?

Do you have link on Costco site?
