I have the 3-pack of these (the shorter ones only) and use them all the time. If you're working on fasteners tightened to 80 ft-lb or so, they're great. Anything beyond that and you risk snapping the shaft. I've gone through five sets now, all snapped on fasteners above this spec (though with mixed success up to that point). Home Depot has been great about letting me grab a new set each time.

For what it's worth, I've also owned similar sets (or just the 1/2 ones) by Dewalt, Milwaukee, and Neiko. All have eventually snapped around a similar point, so this isn't a knock on Husky by any means, just an FYI for anybody wondering what these can handle. I love this set and would recommend it over any others solely because of the lifetime no-questions-asked warranty.

When I started DIY'ing 3,000 years ago, I didn't know these existed.

Got a 3-pack at harbor freight for $2. Likely the best $2 I've ever spent on tools.

Who do you go to for the no-questions-asked warranty? From what you wrote it sounds like you just go to home depot and they do it or do you have to contact husky?

It was. This used to be a 9 piece set before inflation.

Would you need to use impact rated sockets on these or would normal ones likely be safe for normal applications?

You can use whatever sockets you want for hand tools. If you want to use impact tools, then the impact sockets are best.
