How does the insulation disappear on a vacuum thermos? Are you saying there's a hole/puncture in it? Not saying that's impossible, but I've never in 50 years of using them seen the insulating ability of a vacuum thermos disappear unless it's severely physically damaged to where the vacuum is punctured.

(Edit: disclaimer on my observation - the ones I have are older, I suppose quality may have gone downhill recently, like many products, have not bought one recently)

Good deal, but I would just like to lament the fact that Stanley drink/food containers are no longer made in the USA.

i have one in black i got on sale years back.

i often use it in reverse, to take excess wet food home
that i could not finish at the restaurant or lunch counter.
the wide mouth comes in handy with semi solids and in
keeping it clean between uses.

you can use it for beverages, but having to
juggle the lid can be tedious while on the go.

If you buy this, do yourself a favor and wash it by hand. I put it in to the dishwasher regularly for 6 months and the outside is flaking off. Doesn't affect the performance but I have yet to see this happen on other double walled tumblers or containers

I used to love the Thermos brand, but their insulation disappear after 2-3 years of usage and it stop keeping the water hot.

Saw pack of 2 at Costco. I don't recall the price but was definitely lower than $40. So you might want to check it out at Costco first before you pull the trigger on this one.

The high Sierra suuuuuuck compared to thermos. I have both and it's drastic the difference in quality.

Sweet needed something to put a $10 courtesy credit sold and shipped by Amazon to use.

With $4.40 in amex points, and $10 in promo credit it was $5. Should be super useful for hot lunchies and soups going into winter.

I've had Thermos coffee containers go bad. I abuse mine pretty heavily though: washed in the dishwasher and dropped several times. I started with 4 (2x 2-packs from Costco). 3 have gone bad, added a new 2-pack (on clearance for $8 for both), so at 3 currently. I have another 2-pack on standby when the next one goes bad. Not bad considering we have been using them every day for 5 years now.

Here is my experience with this particular product… works really well when working. The vacuum insulation lasted for about 2 months before the vacuum seal leaked and content wouldn't stay hot/cold. All I used it for is hot soup broth. Not sure if the pressure from the hot broth broke the insulation or a manufacturing defect. I reached out to Thermos and they send me prepaid label to return the defected/broken one. After few weeks I got a replacement with a different color since they ran out color options. So far it's been over 4 months and still working (i stopped filling it with hot broth).

huh, i guess they do go bad after all. Only one I've personally known to stop working was my dad's back in the '70s, he got mugged by 2 guys with knives in the parking lot of his workplace (a Fed Reserve bank full of heavily armed ex military guards - these 2 were already not the sharpest tools in the drawer), Dad was a mean ol' cuss, he wasn't armed but he did have a giant heavy metal '70s era Thermos, beat the one guy with the Thermos, other guy ran off, dented the heck out of that Thermos. No longer worked to keep temperature, but it did make a great conversation piece thereafter. So, still useful! Thumbup

I tend not to be quite as rough on my Thermos as he was, so I've not had that issue. Wink

when you say that do you mean they dont last, or don't insulate well, or both, or something else?
