I got this the last time it was at this price. I adore the Thinkpad fit and finish and the trackpoint. For light browsing, terminal work, and media consumption it's wonderful. You can very easily cause it to lag if you try to get it to do too much too quickly. You have to sort of let it do it's thing at its own pace. If you can handle that then I think you'll be happy with it. You cannot beat the price.

It depends on what you are looking for.

I bought a C13 during the last sale and like it a lot. Yes, it is a slower processor and less storage. However, the C13 has a great screen, backlit keyboard (which is very nice to type on), runs cool and quiet, 2 in 1 feature (if you are into that sort of thing), touch screen, extra security of Chrome OS, and premium construction.

I bought the C13 for travel and couch surfing, it is an absolute gem for these purposes at $150. The build quality and chrome OS make the C13 a better choice than the gateway for my needs. If I needed a general purpose PC, then I agree the gateway would be a better choice.

Is there input lag? I don't mind waiting for it to do it's thing, as long as I know it's doing it's thing. However, I hate when I touch stuff, and it doesn't seem like it, so I go to touch it again, and it changes the content, because it registered my first touch without my realizing it. My galaxy tab A does this, and I just don't use it because of it.

I got this laptop on last deal. It's pretty slow. Can't run two or more tabs without lag. 4gb ram is to slow.

Yeah it'll 'freeze' for a bit occasionally after you tell it to do something. But you sorta get used to it in a way "Oh it didn't switch to Chrome when I clicked it. Let me just give it a bit.." basically. Doesn't happen constantly, just here and there. I assume it's the 4GB of RAM. If you bounce around between apps, desktops, tabs, etc, it will not keep up with you in some cases. If you want a system that'll stay in step like this, you can probably get a non-Lenovo that's a bit more expensive, but honestly I don't wanna sacrifice the form-factor of this Lenovo to get better performance. Some people might not care about the form factor, then in that case I'd suggest something else like an Acer or whatever. You'll get better specs for only slightly more money.

Appears to be up to 8% cashback from a rewards program on Lenovo.

Edit: maybe not, due to this term: "Use of coupon/promotional codes not listed on urlhasbeenblocked may void Cash Back. Missing Cash Back must be reported within 45 days from order date."

Two questions:
Question 1) How thick are these when in "tablet mode"? I don't see any dimensions in the specs.
Question 2) When this is in "tablet mode" is the keyboard automatically disabled? Would be annoying to be in tablet mode and having key presses register (when putting the device down or from holding it).

Just about 3/4" in tablet mode which is nearly identical to when the laptop lid is closed normally. Keyboard is disabled in tablet mode.
