I picked up 3 Instacart GCs and had problems with 2 of them. With the first, I received a promo code error that resulted in the giftcard being emptied to pay for the order. It took me 4 hours with numerous customer service reps to get that remedied and, ultimately, I didn't get my GC back. Instead, they issued me a new promo code that requires me to make another purchase. With the second, everything went fine. The third brought problems yet again. I got a promo error again. This time, however, it just emptied my GC without applying any of it to my order and instead took the full value from my CC to cover the order total. I'm not spending another 4 hours on this one, so if CS can't/won't fix it within 10 minutes, I'm filing a CC dispute. Bottom line: I strongly recommend against Instacart GCs.

I've also had a bad one from BB. It was a $200 GC that had an error when applying to my account. I still had credit on my acct from pervious GCs, so the 9 reps I spoke with had to manually do the math from all my GCs I've ever had on my acct plus deducting all my shopping trips to figure out what my acct balance should be. Because it made it look like the $200 applied to my acct since it zeroed the GC out. It was a freaking nightmare. It took them 2+ DAYS to figure it out, many reps, lots of head banging. The math really wasn't all that hard but for some reason it was for them. This was many months ago. Very concerning this "glitch" is still an issue. I haven't bought another GC for them since.

this is one reason why I dont like instacart. I was supposed to get $10 back per quarter with Chase Visa. Didnt get it. Their customer service isnt very good IME and I dont feel like arguing with some dimwit rep who will likely not even know what thats about

EDIT- My credit card rejected the purchase as fraud. I had to verify the purchase was legit before the credit card would allow the purchase
