That's the conclusion I came to. Probably will see more retailers doing similar stuff. Spreading out the "deals" but forcing you into their ecosystem with a subscription.

10 dollars off a Chromecast with Google TV isn't bad. The free white elephant gift is meh. I almost feel like they should take a few more dollars off for taking care of a piece of garbage that Walmart can't sell.
