You guys weren't kidding. When I click Add to Cart, I get a Captcha screen that reads 'You Have Been Blocked'. I don't use any sort of ad blocker, just regular chrome. What a joke.

I would not call this a max support shoe, but Asics Kayano has been my go-to running shoe for dealing with over-pronation and need for support. I agree with earlier commenter that 27 > 28. My 28 has experienced tearing where the laces meet the tongue as well as problems in the heel cushioning. I do feel like Asics quality has slipped across the board but honestly haven't found anything to replace it. I have found lack of inventory for extra wide shoes to be frustrating.
Black Friday is around the corner and usually can find similar priced deals direct from Asics. No guarantees though, just a suggestion.

How is it for non-runners I wonder? I wear running shoes most of the time, just becuse the right running shoes can offset a lot of the discomfort caused by almost zero arch.

And re: the tearing, I have yet to come across a decent running shoe in the past several years that has not had this problem (and I usually buy Saucony Triumphs or around that level, say the $65-$85 (on sale) range.

My Kayano 27s ripped within 6 months of light use so wasnt very good either.

So technically the deal is not quite dead yet, but you may have better luck with Firefox though not all that you can even add to your cart (assuming your size is actually available) will work with the discount. I found nothing in my size and when I did find a shoe that was actually in stock and could be added to cart, certain ones noted excluded from discount.

tldr; very YMMV
