I've been wondering a solution for that. Let them play outside? Maybe regular sand might be better, cheaper and cleaner? Spray them before letting them into the house?

Fwiw my kid loves this. We set up a placemat or towel beneath where he's playing with it and just shake it off into the tray that it comes with when he's done.

This makes hardwood floor really slippery if it gets on it. I went back to play-doh after giving this a try. Bought a huge bag of sand for outdoors play instead.
