If you're a heavier side sleeper I would recommend taking a look at the Nectar Premier Copper Mattress.

If you live near or plan on visiting San Diego (6910A Miramar Rd) would recommend visiting Sleep Sherpa showroom which has a few BIB (bed in a box) brands and models on display.

TMU [themattressunderground.com] is a fantastic resource and may open your eyes to DIY latex, etc.

We love ours. No more back pain like I had with our Tempurpedic cloud. I am on year 8 with the Necter. I just wish they sold the quilted mattress cover as a replacement item.

I can at least confirm that the queen is priced lower now than when I bought it back in Sept. I bought it at $799 and it's now $669. Hope that helps!
but now there is no pilliows and blankets incl which they usually add for like an $200+ value

Had ours for about 2 years. It's been a great mattress, at what I think is a reasonable price. We will likely purchase again one day.

I don't like mine either. Had it for 2 years and was too lazy to replace it. It's too firm and I have to have a topper on top to make it comfortable. Pretty good with a topper but it can shift around. I would have gone with a different brand if I knew. I vary between back and side sleeping.
As with all mattresses It's definitely YMMV. That's the only downside of buying box mattresses and not being able to lay on them before purchase (aside from maybe Casper, Leesa and Purple that are in show rooms)

That said, we really like our Nectar. Going on year 5 and it's definitely getting more broken in (aka softer), so I agree with the below of it being medium in firmness. Compared to our HELIX which was more of a 7.5 out of 10. Ours started at the 6.5 range and is definitely closer to 5.5 by now, which isn't awful considering the age. We are average sized humans (<180 lbs)

Average size humans. Haha. Mattresses have a life of their own.

The comments about not knowing about online mattresses are exactly why I bought a Layla, because both sides are finished to different firmness.

That's why I can't justify buying a bed from anywhere other than Costco. Their return policy is hard to beat.

I would not purchase one again if I had the chance to. In the very first iteration I bought, the mattress cover is cheap and falls apart. Whatever you do, do not open the mattress cover because there is fiberglass inside and it will get all over the place. I wanted to buy a replacement cover but Nectar says they do not sell them and they provide no means for any cover replacements. They also lied to me that the new mattresses are now sealed and there is no way to open the cover anymore because of the new design.

I had to jump through hoops to get my old mattress replaced. Lo and behold the cover can be zipped off on the new mattress as there is a zipper.

My next mattress will not be a Nectar.

The pillows are garbage anyways, they shoved waste material into a pillow case and called it a pillow. I had to empty out the foam inside the pillow to make it less firm because it provided too much support hurting your neck. In the end, I did not end up using the pillows. I ended up buying a cheap memory foam pillow on Amazon.

If you are looking to replace one, I recommend Layla Sleep. If you can spring for it the Hybrid is amazing. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.

100% true about Costco's amazing return policy, but I need to know if you're actually willing to lug an entire mattress into the store and return it? I know I wouldn't lol.

I loved our nectar mattress. But after 3 years both my wife and I have had pain in our shoulders and rhomboids. She's a side and tummy sleeper, in a back sleeper. They're just not as firm as I was read to believe by all those paid mattress review sites.

I do not recommend this.

I might be in the minority, but the best bang for your buck firm mattress is the ikea hybrid mattresses. Don't listen to Big Sleep. Seriously.
