They just dropped the price by $50 on this today. It was previously at $299. A solid deal even though some people say it is a power hog. For the price, it is a very capable combo roughly equivalent to an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X which sells for $199 without a motherboard.

If you must have Intel or have an IGP(because for a dead end socket such as this, 5800x combos are much better) Wait for better deals like the $350 12700K combo, the 11th gen is the lost generation. The worst intel chips since the Pentium 4 Prescott. It's reflected in their resale prices on auction sites. The 9900K sells for more used than this chip that's 2 gens newer.

Comparing the used price of the i9-9900k to this used is not really valid. The 9900k is a slower performer by a significant margin. The only reason it sells for a higher price on eBay is because it is the last upgrade that people can do for a socket 1151-2 motherboard. At some point in a couple years, you will likely see the 11700k increase in used value because it is basically the highest upgrade to a Socket 1200 board. Yes there is a i9-11900k, but it is only marginally faster (~3%) and that could be made up for by overclocking the 11700K.
