Anyone have experience with this suitcase? The price is fantastic for a spinner but ... makes me a little wary. Would jump on this if it's legit quality.

$39.62 after tax in NYC. Pretty good deal if I get more than 5 uses out of it.

It's an SD staff-authored thread. The vast majority of those are paid for. Especially for unknown Chinese-made crap like this and massively shilled stuff on Amazon.

Any brands/models you'd recommend?
What's a sweet spot price for a carry-on suitcase?

Everything on that list is way more expensive. The recommended carry-on is 10 times the cost of this one.

Then buy this one. You're buying crap that will fall apart, maybe spreading everything all over the airport, but whatever. LMAOLMAO

Can you honestly say you have seen someone's carryon burst open inside the terminal? I certainly haven't. i reaaaaalllly doubt almost anyone is using a $350 carry on. suggesting an item 11 times the price and saying the consequence of not buying it are catastrophic is just worthless advice lol.

Relax!
The majority of the world's Zippers are now made in China. So while zipper failure using non-YKK zippers (made in Japan, high quality) used to be a big concern, the zippers will hold up to normal wear and tear.

(Beyond that, if you're bursting through the hard plastic, you're an animal!)

The majority of failure will occur due to abuse.
You the type to stand on a suitcase to squeeze everything in?
The type that has a scratched, dirty carry-on after just a few flights?
The type that throws luggage and doesn't slow down over cracks and bumps?
You might just need a Super Durable Suitcase.

Rest of us? It'll last enough flights to keep us saving.

...

Keep in mind the weight limit of carry-ons.

I've gone big barrel backpack because A. It's easier to rush though the airport, trains, etc with a backpack than rolling. B. Saves a few pounds so I can carry more items.
