I have both the older version and this one. They come in handy in all types of situations for us because we sleep with the fan on out of habit for one. It was handy after hurricane Ian and also handy for staying in hotels to have a fan on while we sleep - or if the room isn't cold enough (darn you Mohave!). Also for car camping.

It lasts significantly longer than the older model and it is significantly quieter too. I bought mine without the charger and battery for this price. However, don't expect this 2ah battery to last much more than maybe 3 hours, especially not on high setting. My 9ah HP batteries make this last ~2 nights sleep worth with some occasional daytime usage on the middle (2) setting which is plenty for me (I always pretty hot and don't skimp on the settings if I'm hot enough). This thing moves some air for it's size and energy usage!

Is this hybrid model that can be directly powered without battery as well?

Thought it was cheaper than this a few weeks ago on slickdeals.net, but I can't find that post anymore.

Yes, both the new and old versions of this fan can be powered directly by an extension cord.
I tried to wait for a better deal but never really found one. This one is a better deal than I got because of the battery and charger but it's still about the same price I paid.
