HP doesn't have any more energy than a regular 4.0, what it does allow is a higher c rate or more peak amperage on higher end duty tools. Unless you have something with high amperage draw it won't make a difference. For instance an angle grinder makes sense but for drills and torque devices it's minimal at best. Apparently they also have a communication bus for hp+ tools where it can control the amps depending upon the temperature and torque applied. I use both, unless I am using a high draw tool where I really need the power it doesn't make much difference. There are also some difference on the bottom where you can angle into tight spaces better but in that case smaller batteries may make more sense.

the new 6ah battery is about the same size with higher capacity cells. I would posit those are better for high power tools and you just buy the cheaper 4ah for the rest of the gig but the 6ah is pretty expensive now. it will come down.

this is not really a deal I got this pack with a high speed charger for the same price this Summer. unless you are hard up for batteries Ryobi days or bf you will see better deals. inventories are really high now.

Don't think they're the same. HP is the higher tier for more energy, so they're more expensive.

Maybe something with a free tool. This deal is pretty solid, though. This is like $12/ah. Non HP batteries at $10 is about as good as it gets.
