I bought 14 ounces for all my gloves. I weigh between 175-180 pounds. I hit hard and the gloves do a great job in lasting and protecting my hands. I still highly recommend wraps though.

On the website picture, there is a venum picture chart showing the impact with.....

Gloves = Pounds weight of boxer

10 ounces = 101-120 pounds
12 ounces = 121-150 pounds
14 ounces = 151-180 pounds
16 ounces = 181 and over pounds

If sparring, go up 2 ounces.

Venum gloves are not leather. If you're serious about training real leather gloves last longer. Twins, Fairtex or top king are my favorite. All made in Thailand out of leather for the most part. All that being said these are great prices for these gloves. Of non leather gloves these are ththe only ones I would use because they are very comfortable and well designed.

I highly recommend the highly rated and popular Venum Impact boxing gloves. I already have the Impact boxing gloves with khaki/black and black/brown models but I also just purchased black/red to add to my boxing glove collection. $40 is a steal for this quality of boxing glove. These gloves live up to their Amazon reviews. I also bought the Petrosyan 2.0 boxing gloves today and I will try those out next week. I also have the Skull boxing gloves that I bought two months ago and it is derived from the Impact range and I like that as well.

I need/want thumb-less gloves with the cushion of boxing gloves. ANyone know of a good pair?

Also random, are there any android aps that count the number of punches in real-time with a pre-selected frequency so it only counts "powerful" or user selected peak in frequency type of thing?
