I know this deal will likely get downvoted to death because its an older model, but I bought a used one at this price during the Pandemic and still use it because it's such an all-around great device. It's got a fantastic speaker for music and a sweet camera that blows away likely anything in this price range. It's awesome as a secondary device or to mess around with more secure roms like Graphene or CalyxOS.

If you're someone who values great photos and a fun little gadget to mess with open-source stuff on Android, there's not much else at this price range that matches. Oh and it gets unlimited (compressed) photo backups to Google Photos as well!

Upvoting for the nostalgia. This is/was a great phone.

All that being said...you can get a 6a with a $100 credit to google for $300 right now, bringing the effective price down to $200. Hard to justify not paying $60 more for that big of an upgrade.

Still, upvote.

Also note that the pixel 6a gets 5 years of updates. The pixel 3a is not scheduled to get any more updates (and the screen is smaller than the 6a)

Give $100. Get $100.
Know someone who would love a Pixel too?

You and a friend will both get a $100 Google Store credit if they buy a Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, or Pixel 7 Pro

Looks like the Pixel 3a is no longer supported. Android and security updates were supposed to end in May 2022.

Does loading custom roms include further security updates for the phone?

I'm all for older phones, but I'm only interested in older flagship phones. Older and lower tier seem like double down to me.

This is a wonderful phone (I'm typinh this comment on one right now).

But it has become super sluggish in the past few months, specially since software update EoL.

It might be fine for a burner phone, but you'd rather buy one off eBay for $50

Idk why people use this logic to calculate a discount.

No you still have to pay $300 for the phone. You just get some restricted store credit to spend on something else you didn't want in the first place

Edit: Fair enough, you're right that was lazy rationalization on my part.

The problem is that even at this reduced price it's still overpriced. Early last year Newegg ran a deal on the Pixel 2XL, a former flagship model, for about $115. The 2XL has a larger screen and a 1440p resolution vs 1080p for the 3a. Anything with less than 1440p is mid-grade tier. The price on this phone should be ≥$100 imo

Surely you can't judge the quality of a phone based on screen resolution alone. In this instance I'm sure the lower screen res may translate to other perks like prolonged battery life.

Furthermore, I believe your intended use of the "Greater-than or equal to" sign is flipped. This phone IS priced at " ≥$100".
It is read from left to right.

"Double down" isn't likely a term you'd use in this situation. It seems like the exact opposite of what you are intending. Unless you meant "Double down[vote]"
