Since this is a prepaid service, you waste the Mint service that you paid for. The phone is already unlocked.

If you do not activate within 45 days you will also not be able to get a refund, no matter what the reason.
I failed to activate in time because of a death in the family. My phone and SIM were delivered a couple days after I left and Mint had almost zero coverage in that area, so I figured I'd wait to activate and kept my Spectrum mobile service active.
About 48 days after purchase, not time of delivery, I tried to activate to no avail. I spoke with several reps and managers. The 45 days is strict with no exceptions. Be sure to read all the fine print!

Yes. You can.

I imagine you can, but you must port in a number to get the extra 6 months of free service! Otherwise you are paying full price for a 6 month plan. There are plans with 3 months free when you buy 3 months that are better value for new numbers.

No, not an existing Mint number.

That's correct. For 12 months of service! It's also unlocked, so you could technically switch to a different carrier on day 1!

Not from the reviews I've seen. It's optimized for Google AI tasks, but on raw gaming and performance metrics, it's just middle of the road. That said, no one's complained about lags, overheating, or problems with gaming.

Two previous threads have a lot of good info. Search Mint for the posts.
Summary:
The phone is UNLOCKED (I bought it and activated with my existing plan).
The plan is NOT tied to the phone or your name. You can use it for other family member (I did) or sell it.
You must activate the plan in 45 days after purchase.
If don't port in a number, you only get 6 months service.
One person reported switching to Fi from Mint and immediately port it back and getting 12 months.
Some people say you can port in Google Voice number by paying $3 to Google.
You CANNOT cancel the plan only and keep the phone (some tried but was told to cancel the whole purchase or none).
Some people have AMEX offer of $45 off $90 (I used it and got confirmation email from Amex immediately).
You may find referral code to get $15 (I did not use it).
You can use Cash Back site to get some extra dollars back. Ex. urlhasbeenblocked $5 back (It worked for me).
To find the deal manually, go to https://www.mintmobile.com/, click top menu Phone - Deals.
It's unlocked, many (including myself) have bought this deal and confirmed
Every time this gets posted that it's restocked I get tempted but I really don't want the Pro version. I would much prefer the size of the regular Pixel 7, I've been hoping they would offer a similar deal for the Pixel 7 but it does not appear that will be happening.

If you can live with 128GB of storage, that's a pretty solid deal. 10GB/mo is only $30 more, so that's probably the better deal. Either way, not bad at all.
You are incorrect. Yes that is their Locked phone policy but this phone is being sold unlocked, it clearly states that right on the Mint's website for this deal. Also this has been discussed and verified over and over in previous posts of this deal.

Same - but decided to pull the trigger as my Essential phone (ideal sized phone) battery is giving up. FWIW, my friend got this phone and also didn't want a large phone and is really liking it. Thanks OP.
Lost me at NO MICROSD slot and NO headphone jack…… I believe you can hook these up to SSD drives easier these days….. and not having micro SD and a headphone jack seems to be the way things are going….

So true. I even went to the local bb and tried out its size but unfortunately the pro doesn't fit me. I hope there will be other deals for pixel7 under at least $400.
