Wrong on both counts. It's $400 off MSRT ($1999) and it Costco offiers an extra year of warranty coveage, not actual AppleCare. If you use your Costco VISA, you get 2 additional years of warranty through CITI for a total of 4. Not as convenient as AppleCare, but it's free.

Again standard price for this model. This is a beast machine with excellent screen, amazing high quality dolby speaker with all necessary ports built in and of course workhorse in terms of performance. In my opinion it should be preferred more than M2 macbook pro 13 inch for around ~1100. Also no one should wait for 14 inch M2 pro macbook pro as that is not coming in this year. Even if it launches around spring 2023, it will be higher msrp and without any discount for initial 6-9 months at least. So you're probably looking at 2200 at minimum with upgrade of only M2 pro chip. Considering all this, i would say, this is the sweetest deal and most bang for your bucks. IMHO.

This should just be considered the normal price for this SKU now. If you're paying more than $1599, you're doing it wrong.

Hoping we see this go down another $100 over BF.

Costco is having an Apple Savings Event from November 25 - 28 (online starting the 24th). The flyer has no prices, so who knows what will be included in the sale.

I'll bite when this is $1,200. New M2's won't come till next spring.

I have the Costco VISA - just FYI that the additional 2 years of warranty benefit is ending (I think in January). Purchases made before January will still qualify for the 2 additional warranty years. This announcement that the benefit was ending was presented to me when I logged into my online account for the Citi card and was reading up on the card benefits.

Isn't the cheapest model $1899? an even more cut down 14" M1 Pro?

Only thing it's lacking is a USB-A port. Why Apple couldn't have put a single one on here baffles me. But yeah, the speaker is absolutely the best of any laptop...super loud and clear.

USB-A may have added even more thickness, plus it'a not really a commonly used standard anymore. Old hardware may have it but USB-C is typically the norm now, and if not, there are tens of thousands of USB-C to USB-A dongles that work just fine.

What baffles (or annoys me) more, is the fact that the HDMI is only an HDMI 2.0, not 2.1, and that the SD Card slot is only UHS-II and doesn't support UHS-III.

For a laptop this expensive, and that has other parts which should make it future proof for YEARS, I'm not really understanding why they gimped the ports. Getting the physical ports was a step in the right direction, and definitely a plus, just kind of feels like a half measure when they then go and gimp the ports with old technology.

Don't get me wrong, HDMI 2.0 and UHS-II are definitely capable on their own, I just don't really understand the sacrifice in a $2000+ laptop. Especially considering there are $700-$800 (possibly cheaper) laptops that carry the newer ports just fine.

Trying to decide between this and the recent M2 MacBook Air, but it would mostly be used for web browsing/Youtube, so it probably doesn't make sense to pay extra for the Pro unless I'm missing something. I'm hoping the MBA goes on sale over Black Friday.
