Pixel 7: Has been available with trade-in values for a significant period of time for net cheaper than this
Pixel 7 Pro: Mint deal at $499+plan has been in and out for over a week now, plenty of time to grab one (including now)

I guess my other pause is if the S23 comes with a better battery and moves to 5x optical zoom.

Also note, any one buying should look to reddit, or pm friends for a referral code to get an extra $100 back, this is the step I missed when I ordered and cant do anything to correct at this point (but I did sign up to be a 'pixel superfan'

(I did the Best Buy deal which I think is still the best deal we've seen -- they have me $490 for the iPhone 11 with no contract or switching required, plus a $200 gift card, plus I earned BB rewards).
The important question is whether you want to leave the Apple ecosystem. I've been threatening to do it for a decade and finally pulled the trigger. I promised to give myself a month before drawing any definitive conclusions, but here's what I know:
1) The Pixel 7 Pro is really nice hardware.
2) I am thrilled to have finally pulled the trigger and even happier that I'll never give Apple another dime.
3) iOS and Android have both matured and are both excellent. Switching the basics (email, contacts, messages, etc) isn't hard but if you use a ton of apps it will take some time to get everything set up again.
4) There are pros and cons to both. You may miss iMessage and Facetime but if you want to be able to customize your experience more you will love what you can do with Android.
5) I'm thrilled to have switched from apple watch at the same time. There are a lot of great Android watches that work better and cost less. And USB for everything!
There are a million other little differences that I'm getting used to and trying not to judge. For example I hated that all three buttons were on the same side of the pixel. It felt confusing compared to iPhone. Then I realized that I could prop the phone up in landscape mode and still adjust volume without accidentally pressing the button on the other side. Now I love it Send me a pm if you'd like more on the pros and cons.
