Pixel 7 Pro: Mint deal at $499+plan has been in and out for over a week now, plenty of time to grab one (including now)

It will show up right after the 31th day of the order and you can cancel right after the credit posts to your account. (I ended up paying for two months google one 2TB membership)
Basically people are paying $20 for a $50 Google Store credit available in 30 days. It's a somewhat better deal if buying the Pro where one basically pays $20 for $75 store credit.
But at this point I don't really see anything I even want from the Google Store using the $100 that I will have to burn from the Superfan referral. Maybe people are planning to sit on it for a year und use it next BF on the Pixel 8 deal. LOL.
1- Does Google require that the trade-in is fully paid-up at the time of trade?
My Sammy trade-in still has three monthly payments remaining, which I plan to pay over the remaining three months.
2- Google's website states that "unless otherwise stated, [this] offer cannot be combined with other offers ..." I presume Google will allow its own Google One 3% discount. Have people had success applying any other discount to the price of the Pixel 7 Pro?
And my cell phone provider (not Google Fi) also confirmed that nothing would change on my bill, if I buy a new phone from Google and trade in my carrier-financed device.
One can confirm that the code is applied correctly in the cart if the text box with green lettering appears after submitting the code at checkout. This too has been documented repeatedly, so not sure why people think any of this is a mystery.
I do agree however that the BestBuy route is probably the better option for most people. I live an hour from Best Buy and cannot stand the idiocy and cluelessness of the local BB reps working the phone desk, so I will stick with the Google route.
Has anyone had any luck getting price protection from the Google Store? Their return period is like two weeks, but was wanting to see about maybe getting store credit for this or something.
I would have obviously waited until now had I known but my previous phone broke and I needed to get one ASAP.
