What Vlad said. Doordash requires certain plans (merchant choices) that in-store prices match in-app pickup prices.
So buying discounted giftcard + using random in-app promos can actually save you a lot of money on pickup orders.
Just few days ago they had $5 off any order, even say a $5 pickup order. So you paid nothing for $5 worth of food. Recently have seen 35% off group order, $40 min but $15 discount limit and specific restaurant discounts like 20% off this local place $5 limit. Taco Bell I've seen $5 off $15 or more order.
Issue is double checking food prices indeed match in-store prices, and resisting spending your DD credit if they don't. Taco Bell seems to match everywhere, same with KFC.
$15 Taco Bell order with $5 off is $10. You factor in 15% discount from buying the GC cheaper? My $15 order is now what $8.50? (assuming magically no sales tax)
alot of restaurants dont raise their prices when its for pick up. so you're basically saving 15-20% on stuff you were going to eat anyway.
