Good if you want to set up a cheap burner phone for a month.

But, there are better deals if you are really setting up a new line for the long haul.
- Mint and other vendors regularly run sales for half price if you buy a long term (like 1 year or 6 months).
- US Mobile will give you your first month for free, no strings attached.

Haven't done it, but their free sim never becomes unusable. You either pay for a second month and continue using it, or you don't.

I'm looking for 2 months of temporary service (new phone # is fine) starting sometime next month. Is getting this Ting SIM card this best deal for this or are there better bargains for this out there? Of course, want to keep cost as low as possible. Thanks for any suggestions.

That just means you have to make a new account/number each time. Only downside is you can't cancel online, but these are okay for porting out/in deals. And for the Chevron app.

I've done this deal a few times, and as recently as January 2024, at the end of the first month the cost is deducted from the $30. Never paid a dime extra.

I also made a point to cancel just before the second month started.

Yes, date printed on the package you receive. The one I ordered few months back show May 2025.

I just activated one last month and didn't get charge for first month, just did it few times before and never get charge for first month.

tried to activate. they no longer honor the credit, but will give you a 'courtesy credit' but they can give that to any one. Even free it wasn't worth the massive hassle to get it set up (you have supply a credit card also, no surprise there) minimum is $10 plus taxes and fees, that includes no data.
