This is back down to the previous good price of $0.99. Includes $30 of free service. The terms say it will apply to the second month but in my experience it applies right away. Since this is a post paid service it is available before the first months bill comes due. I believe these are T-Mobile MVNO cards, not Verizon judging by past deals but YMMV. I bought a couple in July and activated in October with no problems. Service has been solid. Pickup in store for free.

With tax, $10 service comes out to $17. So, you'll get almost two months for free.

Be careful about buying multiple Ting sim cards before try one first, I bought 2 back in July from BB and both of them refuse to activate due to the credit card getting declined for no reason.

There is no good way to fix it as CSR just repeating themselves without looking into what's really going wrong.

No. If you're trying to take advantage of a T-Mobile offer that requires port-in, this won't work, at least not if it's the SIM that runs over the T-Mobile network.

If you're trying to port a number in, your easiest route is to buy an AT&T prepaid SIM. You used to be able to buy a number off eBay, but that's gotten harder. And don't even try to buy a Verizon number off eBay. The last time T-Mobile did a free line with the iPhone SE that required port-in, lots of people were buying these numbers, and they were getting disconnected by Verizon before they could be ported. The AT&T prepaid route will cost more, but you're pretty much guaranteed of getting a successful port.

Do you know how much it cost to port number to ting?
There's no cost to port a number. The minimum charge for a month of service is $10 plus all state, local, and federal taxes and fees that will be line items so you can see exactly what they are. Your tax rate will vary by where you live, but figure it might be $5 just because there are some flat fees not based on usage, but that are required by law/contract.

Agree with the original comment re: taxes and fees coming out to around~7 for a month's service costing 10. I know this from having used this promotion in the recent past. Remember Ting is NOT a traditional prepaid carrier. They charge fees and taxes on TOP of monthly service fees like the big carriers. Hope this information is of help to someone.

CSR just repeating themselves without looking into what's really going wrong.
LOL is my old coworker working at Ting now?!? My first job out of college I was doing CSR work, and quite frankly they kinda just throw you in the water without really giving you any info on how to do your job. Yes there was training but you're frequently asked questions you don't have the answer to until you git gud. Anyway so in training we were taught we must repeat the customer's question back to the customer (we did email support mainly) so they know we understand wtf they asking. My coworker would basically reply with something like this…

Hi customer, I understand you're having issues activating your Ting SIM card and I'm here to help. Are you sure you're having issues with activating your SIM card?

Dude managed to last almost a year at the job before getting let go. It was quite impressive ApplauseApplauselaugh out loud

don't add more than 1 line into the same new account, you will only get one time credit only. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

and their website is really buggy and frustrated for new comer.

I'm confused. The OP says the SIM card is 99c and includes $30 in airtime, but everyone is talking about $10 becoming $17 with taxes and fees. If I buy this sim for 99c, can I stick it in my sons phone and have a working cell number for 30 days or not?

Multiple reviews of this product on Target and Best Buy indicate that Ting isn't activating these SIMs.

here is my experience:

I saw post this comes with $30 credit (said -- might apply right away). so I got this for new number to port out to other carrier in DAY-1 (9/28)

It will ask me to pick plan - min is $10+ tax , also required me to put credit card on-file.

I port out right away same day activated, however, $30 credit never apply to my account to offset any cost. It still keep charging me $10+ tax ~

I am unable remove credit card on-file even phone # already under another carrier, it invoice me again and show on my credit card today. I gotta spent more time to talk to customer service.

If I would do again, I prefer to get phone # from tracfone (around $15) then there is no annoying charging again and again even after porting out. Trafone shown account closed and no more charge after that.
