The 30 dollar credit applies to the second month, not the first one. Must read the fine print.

Can I provide prepaid visa card during activation? I dont want to give them my credit card information. I am fine paying $10 for first month for talk and text only but dont want to pay after credit expires in fourth month.

$30 credit will be applied within 10 minutes of account creation with this $1 SIM. Most of us faced issues during checkout with credit or debit cards. If you created new Ting account recently, try to clear cache and browsing history and it will go through without any payment issues.

YMMV. My experience- I purchased two SIMs around Jan2021 from Target and activated both the SIMs on Aug'21.
