Yes. With inflation, this is better than nothing. Depending on where you are, could be up to $11 in savings.

The amount of food you get for the price you pay at PE is ridiculous. In most markets, you are better off buying the combo platter at your local Chinese take-out than at Panda Express. For example, the orange chicken bowl at PE costs 8-9 dollars whereas the orange chicken combo platter will cost 6-7 dollars in most markets. Plus, the food taste better and you get more in quantity.

Isn't the panda bowl just 1 entree and 1 side? 🫤

Panda has gone wayyy downhill. I remember their noodles were ok. Now they are literally shoe strings. Horrible!

I wish they were still 6-7. Chinese take out where i live cost around 9 to 10 dollars here now. Very rare occasions you will find them under 8. Although i do agree the portion size is typically way better at your local chinese.

It's definitely better than nothing. It's funny, had it just been a two item plate I'd get this deal for sure as that's what I normally get there. Free bowl is fine though, I guess that's not a bad portion size for lunch.

I don't think the $ is less or much less, but I do agree that your local mom/pop will have daily specials that SHOULD fill the container more than PE. You can tell by the weight of the container!

In truth, PE's mediocre chow mein and fried rice are <$1 to make, but they cut back on that in the containers. Yeah, they'll fill the main entree area with them, but only enough to cover the area.

Most local mom/pop will fill the small sections with the rice/lo mein and fill up the larger section of the to-go container with the main entree.

I am able to usually eat the local mom/pop for 2-3 meals vs. 1 sitting with PE.

IDK. I have to shell out $30. They rarely have specials. They need an app like McD, BK, Wendy's, Popeyes, etc. Give me some specials. Give me a free egg roll once in a while. Give me $1 off. They can afford to, but they don't bc they corner the retail commercial fast Chinese food market.

I prefer the food at my local Chop Suey, but they are much further than the 3-4 PE around me. That said, I only go to PE when I crave the Orange Chx or Hot and Sour soup. Aside from those two, the rest is just okay. When I am jonesing for authentic Chop Suey, I'll hit the costco near by as an excuse to go to my discount Chop Suey Chinese take out.

It's ok though because majority of the world does not know. But still support the original Asian founders/owners.

Neither is any food you get at a Chinese restaurant. People in Beijing aren't eating General Tso's Chicken with a pork fried egg roll
