Yes. With inflation, this is better than nothing. Depending on where you are, could be up to $11 in savings.

The amount of food you get for the price you pay at PE is ridiculous. In most markets, you are better off buying the combo platter at your local Chinese take-out than at Panda Express. For example, the orange chicken bowl at PE costs 8-9 dollars whereas the orange chicken combo platter will cost 6-7 dollars in most markets. Plus, the food taste better and you get more in quantity.

Cheap bastard here- you can buy a bottle of orange sauce and 2, 2 pounds of popcorn chicken for a total of 19-20 and make 60-100 dollars worth of orange chicken from panda. Air fryers are great!

Gift card didn't work. Spent 30 mins with customer service and they would not refund me the 30 dollars because I opened the gift card. Hell yeah I opened it. I tried to use it but it's not working. After 30 mins of explaining to them common sense, I hung up without a refund. I am never eat at panda express again. I can deal with 50% of the time my order missing something but this was the deal breaker for me.

Considering one of our local restaurants was busted for thawing chicken directly on the dirty tile floor. Food safety might be better at PE.

Panda has gone wayyy downhill. I remember their noodles were ok. Now they are literally shoe strings. Horrible!
The first time I had Panda was back in 2017. Bejing Beef and the Shrimp, w/ Chow Mein and Super veggies. Entree still had some crisp to it, veggies were on point.

The second time I went, all the breading was soggy and the veggies were gray, looked like they sat in my fridge for a month or sat under a warmer all day.

Been pretty hit or miss over the last 5 years, not sure I'd go as far as say they went downhill, but more that they are so damn inconsistent. Was hard to complain with the $20 family meals back in the early covid days, but those days are long gone, sadly.

I thought I ran into the same issue, but it turned out to be caused by spaces in the gift card number. The email they send you with the gift card code has it formatted with spaces, but when you checkout on their mobile page the form expects the gift card code with no spaces. When I tried copy pasting the code, it pasted in the spaces so the gift card number came back as invalid. Once I fixed the issue the gift card went through no problem. I was able to use the gift card (and free bowl code) 2 minutes after purchasing it.

Edit: The most difficult part of this deal will be remembering that I have a Panda Express gift card with $3.xx left on it after ordering lunch for 2 today. I added it to my Google Wallet so hopefully next time I search for Panda it'll remind me that I have a gift card.

This is actually a quite sweet deal as the free bowl is truly free; it covers all tax and premium surcharges.

I think the food quality somewhat depends on the location, as my regular location serves delicious food most of the time. Sometimes they drop the ball, but it's at the same rate or better as other chains.
Regarding the price, I never order a single bowl. The best bang for buck is the bigger plate as you pay $11 for three entrees and a full side, which is perfectly enough to feed a grown man.
