  • Based on the bestseller by Stephen E. Ambrose, the epic 10-part miniseries Band of Brothers tells the story of Easy Company, 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army. Drawn from interviews with survivors of Easy Company, as well as soldiers' journals and letters, Band of Brothers chronicles the experiences of these men who knew extraordinary bravery and extraordinary fear. They were an elete rifle company parachuting into France early on D-Day morning, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge and capturing Hitler's Eagle's Nest at Berchtesgaden. They were also a unit that suffered 150 percent casualties, and whose lives became legend.

As someone whose grandfather served in WW2 and Korea (retired Brigadier General), a father who was in the army, and a brother who is a 3rd generation West Point graduate behind them, this show is something special. I love a well made and historically accurate movie or show. This series takes it a step further to honor so many of the people from our country's greatest generation.

I will parrot another comment and say that this is beyond deserving of a 4K UHD re-release.

Ooh, there's a third installment coming, called "Masters of the Air". Huge production set for AppleTV+ said to be "late 2022" but it may still be a while.

I'll echo the praise that this is one of the best war "movies" and one of the best miniseries ever. Worth watching and re-watching.. and a steal for $8 on blu-ray, or even $11.19 as it may be now.
