This is an AMS exclusive with Bolivian Rosewood fretboard. These sell for $5000 at most retailers with the ebony fretboard. It is on backorder but looks like you can place an order as it says more on the way.
Good price for a New CS level Les Paul, if this is what you're looking for. However isn't bolivian rosewood another name for Pau Ferro? Based on other guitars with Pau Ferro, this may look even lighter in person which, for me, doesn't fit the les paul custom vibe.
So you are saying this Les Paul costs less but looks less like a Les Paul?

They've been using Pao Ferro for a while at this point. I'm partial to ebony as well, but it's not unexpected to see this
I think the Bolivian Rosewood is the cheap version. I'd rather go for ebony.
Yep, Brazilian Rosewood is the good shiot, but while Braz RW would be neat because it is rare on Les Pauls, I would def prefer ebony as well. I just picked up an Adam Jones LPS on sale and it is my first ebony fretboard (and my first nice guitar too), love the look. I would LOVE to have a Custom, and this price is pretty dang close to something I could afford with like 48 month no interest financing , but when spending this kind of money, agree... get what you want and try not to compromise.
Samash had two in stock, I actually put my order in on Sept 17th, got it a few days later, so it was really in stock, not a back order. It was one of those site wide 10% off coupon things, like the 15% off monoprice coupons, which made it 2700 with free shipping, and they also had a 36 months no interest deal on the Sam Ash card with max $70 statement credit, and no tax in my state for Sam Ash so it ended up costing me $2630 shipped. By around then they were down to around 3500 on reverb, and everywhere else was still on back order, so not counting inflation over the next three years... I feel like I saved about $870.
It sometimes takes me hours to rationalize buying a thing I don't need . That said, I have not been able to rationalize a VOS or Signature custom AJ LP tho... even if I could find like 10 years no interest financing . I am not really into relic'ed guitars anyway(thank God!), I would much rather just a real used road worn guitar... not a fake aged one, just a weird preference I guess since everyone else seems to love them.
I would have posted it on SD, but there was only one left, and it didn't even last until the one I ordered shipped. It may be selfish, but I always wait till my order ships before I post a deal, so I don't get screwed if they oversell and decide not to ship my order.

Wow, that was a great deal! I'm finally seeing the standard AJ Gibson back in stock at many stores for the original $3k MSRP. ZZsounds even has a blemished AJ right now for $2549 but I don't feel like rolling the dice on it, lol.
I actually like the VOS (non aged) but the prices are still a little elevated compared to the original $6k. I'm not really a fan of the Murphy lab aged versions either.. or those prices, ha. Those extremely limited models will always command a premium and will likely forever be a collectors item.

Yep, the VOS would be my pick of all of the AJ customs if they were all the same price... I would even pay more for it . But yeah, I rarely see a VOS for sale on reverb, except that one in Aus that sold for $3600 (WHAT? https://reverb.com/item/54481339-...ilverburst), same place that sold the v1 sig for $5K (https://reverb.com/item/54432476-...murphy-lab), maybe these were from that hijacking . The only decent price sigs are over seas, so either the recession is hitting worse in some places... or I dunno why.
