The items in the picture are not the actual item. That seems to be $60. The $10 deal only has a few things.
This looks like a bunch of play toys. Spend a few more bucks and get quality items for emergencies. And if you do get a kit, get one with a reflector or flare so you can put behind your car in the dark. Also a window breaker is another good item to look for in kits or buy separately.
Would you really trust 10AWG tho?

I remember this deal was posted atleast a year back and is supposed to have a free 1-year Roadside Assistance.

Has anyone who bought this last time used the roadside assistance or is the whole thing a scam?

Had anyone ever used the 1 yr roadside assistance from this kit before?
Nope, but I'm assuming you need to contact them first, get auth confirmation, pay with your money first, and wait indefinitely for reimbursement

Yes, it's enough to get you going as an emergency, not if you spend your day jump starting people.

But now a days I would recommend a battery jump starter, that way you don't need to try to find someone willing to help you jump start your car...of course the latter is going to be a lot more money.

where can we pay "a few more bucks" for a better quality items including a reflector or flare along with 1 free yr of roadside assistance?

Unless you battery is just barely too low to get your starter to engage, 10awg is too small to get enough current through to jumpstart anything but the smallest engines.

While 10 ga isn't going to start a car with a stone dead battery it may be able to with some patience get a battery up to a point where the battery plus cable current can start it. Which is not great, but honestly by the same rate most modern cars don't work worth squat without a halfway working battery anyway because they're so electrically sensitive. So I'm torn. Jumper cables this size are kind of a joke, but they do work in some situations and probably if they don't you may not have much better luck with "good" cables due to the lack of battery "help" to keep your charge voltage high enough.

I love it when people buy things 'in case of emergency' and somehow don't consider the possibility that they're such poor quality they'll never be of any use.

As if that emergency instance, as rare as it might be, doesn't matter at all. At that point, the difference between having nothing at all and garbage is negligible.
